04/14 Kids' Art Workshop, Camp Omi, and Upcoming Spring Revels Event!

This Saturday, we will read, "Once Under the Cherry Blossom Tree," an old Japanese tale retold and illustrated by Allen Say. This story, of a grouchy landlord who ends up with a cherry tree sprouting from the top of his head, is still a favorite joke in Japan.
"...Say tells the story with wit and vitality, and his beautiful drawings compliment this classic Japanese take." — Harper & Row Publishers

Back in the studio, we will use India ink and tissue paper to create our own cherry blossom tree paintings. now is the time that the pink and white flowers cover these ornamental trees, welcoming the spring season.
