11/26 Kids' Art Workshop

Dear Parents and Young Artists,

This Saturday, we will walk through The Fields in search of opposites in our sculptures. Find a sculpture that is black and white, a sculpture that has both straight and curvy lines, a sculpture that is rough and smooth, a sculpture that looks both hard and soft, a sculpture that has both inside and outside, and more... How do opposites 'work together' and why do some artists think opposites are important in making a work of art?

Back in the studio, children will build with wood and wire to create 3D forms and structures. These materials, one rigid and the other flexible, will help us to understand the difference between geometric and organic shapes and how they can compliment each other in sculpture.

Date: Saturday, November 26
Time: 10am-12pm
Location: Visitors Center at The Fields Sculpture Park
1405 County Route 22, Ghent NY
Cost: $12/child (bring a friend or sibling -- $20/two)

Saturday Workshops are a full two-hour program beginning at 10am. Parents may drop-off/pick-up children or relax in our Cafe area (free Wi-Fi, Cafe opens at 11am). This is a drop-in class, no need to pre-register!
