11/19 Kids' Art Workshop

Dear Parents and Young Artists,

This Saturday, welcome back Christine Flood as she leads us on yet another adventure into The Fields! Using your "Young Artist Field Kits", we will learn about several sculptures through interactive activities found in our kid-friendly backpacks. Use a pair of binoculars to spy the hawk that perches atop Bernar Venet's Straight Line, look through a kaleidoscope to see a sculpture multiply and spin, and try a sketching challenge. Join us for this ART SAFARI!

Back in the studio, children will participate in a mixed media collage project using vintage books, textured papers, foam sheets, tin foil, and other two-dimensional findings. Take a closer look at the work of American artist, Jonathan Talbot, who uses collage techniques in different ways. Talbot merges images from the past and present to tell stories about the future. "The Artist as an Explorer" is one of his most internationally renowned series.
