11/05 Kids' Art Workshop

Dear Parents and Young Artists,

This Saturday, we will discover how things change depending on how you look at them. What happens when you look at a sculpture from below, above, or from different angles? Using a camera, we will document several sculptures from different points of view. See how familiar artworks in The Fields can change with the shift of your gaze.

Back in the studio, we will review our photos, then read the book,
"The Other Side" by Istvan Banyai:

In "The Other Side," artist, designer, provocateur Istvan Banyai takes us on another exceptional journey. In graphically stunning illustrations that feature many twists in point-of-view, familiar scenes turn and turn again to show us the back, the front, the top, the bottom, the opposite, the "other side" of each perspective...What's on the other side? The answers may surprise you!

Children will make a "two-sided" drawing, choosing their own theme. What's on the other side of your door, your curtain, your window, your cage, your tree, your bedroom closet....?
