10/29 Kids' Art Workshop and FREE HALLOWEEN EVENT!

Dear Parents and Young Artists,

This Saturday, we will walk to the Education Pavilions to see an exhibition of mixed media animal sculptures by high-school senior, Eli Merritt. Using string, wood, scrap metal, wax, fabric, old hand tools, and other found objects, Eli assembles large and small creatures by manipulating the materials in creative ways. See a pterodactyl in flight, a miniature deer, and a giant scorpion made out of air cushion packing pillows!

Back in the studio, we will get ready for Halloween by making spooky shadow puppets. Using black paper, scissors, hole-punches, and found sticks, children will create a silhouette shape that will cast a playful shadow. Make a pumpkin, a skeleton, a ghost, or something else! A back-lit shadow screen will be set up so we can see our creepy creations in action!
